Spicy Savory Soup Secret

Today I‘ll show you how to make a raw, red-hot-spicy tomato soup which promises to be a very, very tasty dish, that will be enjoyed by all.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 large, organic tomatoes, rough chopped
  • 1 large red sweet bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 Tablespoons fresh garlic, chopped
  • ¼ onion, chopped
  • ¼ to ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper, depending on taste
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 to 3 Tablespoons olive oil (see note below)

PREPARATION:

  1. Pour tomatoes, red bell peppers, garlic and onion into large mixing bowl (or food processor or large blender).
  2. Add cayenne pepper and cinnamon. Adjust seasoning according to taste.
  3. Add as much olive oil as you like (see note below).
  4. Blend with immersion blender, in food processor, or blender until smooth.

Serve chilled.

Note: This recipe is best suited for mixed types. But if you‘re a carb type, you can just reduce the amount of olive oil accordingly.

I really appreciate these recipes.  As I go more and more organic and raw foods, I am encouraged that I can make the transition.  I will add cilantro to this recipe for its health benefits.

Hi Halcyon, For your info, veggies have a large amount of enzymes (raw). When cooked they enzymes are lost. Eat raw if posable. Mugges

The soup sounds excellent.  Incidentally, I just wanted to point out that we can absorb more nutrients from many vegetables by cooking them.  Vegetables in general don't have a lot of enzymes, so, more often than not, cooking them is a boon.  Anyway, if anyone who sees this recipe is inclined to cook the tomatoes first, go right ahead.  The end result might be even tastier, in fact.

Video lady says 2 teaspoons chopped garlic, recipe says 2 tablespoons.  Which one is correct?

I'd say start with two teaspoons garlic (about two cloves) and adjust from there.  Two tablespoons is about six cloves, that would make is very garlicky!  No vampires in that house, lol.

The recipe calls for two tablespoons chopped garlic while the woman on the video who is demonstrating the recipe says two teaspoons.  Big difference!  Which amount is correct?
