A Homemade Rosemary Flavored Vinegar That's Absolutely Divine!

I really like flavored olive oils and flavored vinegar, but they can tend to be quite pricey. So, I found some ways to make my own at home. Here‘s a way for you to make your very own rosemary-flavored vinegar.

The type of vinegar you‘ll want to use for this is organic, obviously. It needs to be aged in wood barrels, unpasteurized and naturally filtered. One more important thing to look for in vinegar, especially apple cider vinegar, is that it‘s got the mother of vinegar in it. To learn about the reasons for this choice of vinegar, search Mercola.com. The apple cider vinegar I‘m using today only costs a couple of bucks a bottle .

INGREDIENTS:

  • Couple sprigs of fresh rosemary

  • Full bottle of organic, apple cider vinegar

PREPARATION:

  • Place rosemary sprig inside vinegar bottle until submerged.

  • Shake bottle.

  • Place bottle in cool, dark place (may refrigerate if desired) for about 2 to 3 weeks.

  • Filter vinegar and rebottle in decorative bottle, if you‘ve got one, or just a plain glass bottle or jar.

You‘ll end up with a lovely, rosemary-flavored apple cider vinegar that smells absolutely divine, and lasts for a good, long time.

Very, very tasty. Enjoy!

I've been planning to try to make my own vinegar but haven't gotten there yet. I do use ACV on my hair but tend to use balsamic or red wine vinegar more in cooking. My mom's descriptions of different vinegars and their salad topping companion has helped me reach for the right one in my dishes (and when in doubt, I just ask mom)

Hi! Would someone please tell me what I could use this vinegar for?  Salad dressing?  I'm kind of new at eating organically & need all the help I can get.  Thanks in advance!  :-)

Salad dressing is one great use.  Get experimental with it.  It could be good with a stew or soup.  Try a small bite first before you put it in with your entire dish.  If it's got a live culture, don't cook it.  Put it on after so you retain the probiotics.

you can use vinegar for anything. depending on the flavour, of course. you can use lucy's rosemary vinegar in a salad dressing vinaigrette. some people cook with balsamic vinegar, myself included, though balsamic vinegar is not as healthy as apple cider vinegar (which seems to be the healthiest).

oh, and apparently you can put it in your hair! (read above) :o) (...i'm curious about that one, maybe i'll try it)

the internet is your oyster—just google it and you'll find the answer!

Apple cider vinegar alone has a rediculous number of health benefits just as it is!

So with Rosemary it's just even more tasty...seriously, ACV is so good for you for

so many things (that is unless you have a personal intolorance for it.) If you search

the internet you can probably find lots of information but there are books out there

that are just about the many benefits of organic, raw/unfiltered ACV. Enjoy

couple spoon fulls before every meal (or as often as you can remember..i usually go before breakfast and before dinner only). this will just be a general purifing tonic for the body. youll feel good. its kind of a little pickme up. i love it. some say it keeps unwanted pounds off. dont know bout that. if youre eating properly (read: high protein and fat, low low low carbohydrates) you shouldnt have issues with weight.

i've read that this is useful if you have a weight problem. and too much vinegar of any kind can oxidize your liver. i don't know what warrants as too much, though. i'd be careful with drinking vinegar in such large quantities daily (whatever large quantities are—six spoonfulls a day, less, or more).

ACV was used in my generation before the use of hair conditioners, you washed your hair and rinsed it with vinegar for shine and health.  I love it most for BURNS. I have had some horrendous burns = sop a wash cloth, cotton, or  and apply to the burned area. it will prevent blistering also takes away the pain.  It is good for sunburn as well as grease, oil, or hot pan burns On occasions with a finger i put ACV in a small bottle and stick the finger into i t.  my first aid kit contains ACV.   thanks for the rosemary tip i grow rosemary.   GBC
