An Herb Flavored Olive Oil to Tickle Your Fancy!

In today‘s video, I‘ll show you how to make an instant, herb-flavored, olive oil. The good, natural flavor from fresh, organic basil leaves will infuse the olive oil, marrying two rich, aromatic flavors. You can use pretty much any herb you like for this, such as thyme, rosemary, oregano, whatever you fancy.

INGREDIENTS:

  • About 2 TABLESPOONS chopped, fresh, organic basil leaves

  • Approx. ½ cup of organic, extra-virgin olive oil (use as much oil as you like)

PREPARATION:

  • Place chopped basil in small bowl.

  • Top off basil with organic olive oil.

  • Leave oil uncovered in kitchen for 2 to 3 hours, to allow time for herb to infuse well into oil.

  • Strain oil and pour into small, decorative glass bottle.

Serve with salad or any dish at all.

So, there you have it! Another tasty, instant, herb & olive oil recipe for you. Enjoy!

It should be noted that while this type of recipe is tasty, there is a very, very short shelf life even refridgerated. When you add an herb or vegetable to live oil, it makes the perfect breeding ground for botulism.

I found this to be a non-enjoyable event.  I have been infusing all grades of olive oil for many years and I am not a chef.  I am a home cook, male, love to try new things.  Infusing olive oil with spices is very basic. Show me something that is astounding, stunning.  For example:

1 cup extra virgin olive oil

1 Jalapeno, raw (remove seeds)

1/2 cup chopped tomatoes

4 leaves cilantro

4 leaves basil

Process in food processor for 2 minutes.

Use sparingly over salads...1-2 tablespoons.

C'mon Lucy....light my fire!

A Mediterranean Lebanese Diet is, in my opinion, most probably the best and healthiest diet to be found anywhere in the world and of course with lots of olive oil.

If you have never had a Mezzi, then you have never eaten good food.........a Mezzi is in fact a meal on its own and we usually only have this.

In the UK, the nation, it seems, prefers Indian quisine; Balti, Curry etc.

So..........visiting the UK, London's Edware Road is the place to eat............and just round the corner from Marble Arch on the Edgeware Road is a supermarket made in heaven; Middle Eastern food to fill all of your culinary desire.

It is a pity that the British appear to be very shortsighted in their culinary adventures; mission out on the best food in the world; Middle Eastern food.

For the ladies.........complexion worries, then each and every day take on its own a level teaspoon of Olive oil to maintian a younger complexion.

Olive oil comes in various kinds, dependant upon how and when it is pressed; Extra Virgin being the best as far as we are concerned.

Then we com to the favourites...........Tabouleh, Hamous, Kufta either on  tray in a diamond presentation and also as egg shaped.......just to name a few of the delicious appetisers in a typical Mezzi.

And of course any Mezzi would not be the same without Lebanese Arak............the best type of Arak.

If you can manage a typical Mezzi and still want more......then the main dishes are out of this world........food for the Gods.

Want to be healthy, look good, have better skin and complexion...........then Olive Oil is for you.

after living in spain, i really use it for everything. the great thing about spain is that the olive oil packets they give for free in the airport food courts tastes better than most of the inferiour oils you get here. i love me some good quality spanish olive oil.. favourite being oil made from the arbequina olive. if you never liked olive oil, try looking for that kind. it's sweet and mild. not heavy at all.

Olive oil remains among the best fat intake options, as has been so for several millenia.
