Good comedy is usually about dissecting and pointing out the sheer lunacy of something that happens all the time. And, usually, you can’t use satire unless a vast majority knows exactly what you’re talking about, and can relate to the topic.
This is why I really love this video. Bill Maher whacks the ball out of the park with his commentary on the current state of “health” care in the United States and the propaganda machine that wants you to believe you need a pill in order to get out your door in the morning.
“There’s no money in healthy people,” he says, and that truth is at the heart of our American health crisis.
By making it more difficult, and confusing, for you to make healthy choices, the food industries and the pharmaceutical industries are feeding their own megalomania. In truth, optimizing your health is not rocket science. But if you believe the media, and the pharmaceutical propaganda in particular, it may seem impossible to get by without emptying your wallet to buy your required pills for all those newly invented ills.
Wake up – and take control of your own health. Be the master of your own life. Don’t buy into the hype!
Just remember these ten basic tenets of optimal health (and healthy weight) – which will never go out of style, regardless of what marvels modern science comes up with next:
Remember, leading a common sense, healthy lifestyle is your best bet to produce a healthy body and mind, increase your longevity, and avoid adding to the pharmaceutical industry’s coffers.
Bill Maher needs to get with Michael Moore to write the script for a follow-up to "Sicko." This is the crucial part that Michael left out.
I think there's a reason Michael Moore didn't add anything in Sicko about diet and exercise - he obviously doesn't know the benefits from it! Michael Moore needs to eat healthy and exercise to really truly understand first-hand why pills and unnecessary medical procedures are ruining our health and making us broke. I support universal health care, but it is not the only facet of a very complex solution.
On a side note, I highly recommend the book Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser. It starts out somewhat slow, but then really gets into the greed that fuels corruption to influences our food choices.
Brilliant - should be compulsory viewing for every health care practitioner.
Hi Mercola Fan - I'm just sharing.......this website http://www.notmilk.com/
has tons of interesting information.....I don't want to burst any bubbles about "raw milk" but I think it's definitely worth a look if milk is in your diet.
Also Dr John McDougall gives some facts - you'll be glad you now know.
