Human Artificial Chromosomes on the Horizon

The development of artificial chromosomes with a potential use as vectors for delivery of therapeutic genes came one step close to reality with the recent Japanese discovery of how to create mammalian artificial chromosomes.

COMMENT: And the times they are a changing. Assuming we survive the Year 2000 bug, traditional medicine will have some unbelievable way to treat diseases. The Human Genome Project is well on its way towards completion. Once done we will have an incredible understanding of the genetic causes of many disease and with this technology, the tools to treat it. I never cease to be amazed by what science and progress continues to come up with.
