Doctor's Orders Can Kill You

Joke

When’s the last time YOUR doctor gave you a prescription for some nutritious food, some time off from work, and a stress-free, loving relationship?

I got a big kick out of this cartoon, not only because of the punch line but also because the above “prescription” truly can redirect you toward health. Life can seem so very complicated at times, but when you get down to it, it is the simple things that make all the difference.

So as much and as often as you can, eat healthy food, be supportive to your loved ones, get some physical activity (in whatever form you choose!), and by all means, laugh, deeply and heartily.

it appears that many people are in the gender boxing ring.

I say it takes both man and woman to make a happy marriage or union.

One should not criticize the other.

I live my life as I want and expect my spouse to do the same.

It is fortunate that we agree on most things, but when we disagree, we dicuss the matter and compromise when possible.

Niether of us tries to control the other.

Trying control the other is much to hard and unrewarding.

She is not only the love of my life, she is also my very best friend.

So cute.  Thanks for the laugh.  Although we all know that unfortunately, we will almost never hear a physician utter those words.   As for the wife, oh I am sure that sentiment is uttered everywhere...... :)

On behalf of all soon to be DEAD husbands, the moral remains, avoid the MD, and take control of your own health!

What about the reverse?  If men would do the same for a woman, maybe there would be less heart attacks, serious illnesses in women.
When women entered the work force, we did not drop any of our duties. We just added to our obligations. Having a partner that understands
this could help us too. Two weeks ago I suffered a heart attack with absolutely no health problems.... high cholesterol, blood pressure,
bad HDL , LDL, weight issues etc retc.  The symptoms started off as Prinzemetal's angina and went down from there. My doctor is mystified as I juice and do the whole 9 yards of living a healthy lifestyle.

Arizona, I have a question for you:  Before your heart attack, had you been stressed?  Did your "whole nine yards" include properly controlling stresses in your life?

MAYBE a change in your EMOTIONAL makeup is in order. You come across as an embittered person.

Arizona, as much as I know about Prinzmetal's Angina, I did not think that they have actually uncovered a cause for this kind of vasospasm in the heart.  Someone correct me if I am wrong!) My father ended up with a double bypass for this because even though many people actually "outgrow" it (it can go away on it's own), his was bad enough to cause a cardiac arrest and the affected areas had to be bypassed.  He lead a far more healthy lifestyle than most (before and after that).  Sometimes we can try to be careful with our health and things just happen.

Arizona,

Have you heard of Dr. Sinatra?  He is a Cardiologist practicing primarily holistic medicine.  His books may provide the answer as to why you had a heart attack even though you live well.  Mainly, that if we are low on CoQ10, L-Carnitine, and/or Magnessium, etc, a heart attack will happen in the healthiest of people.

Now add to this the "NAET" philosophy, that people can be allergic to these items which causes their body to "reject" them, so no matter how healthy your diet, your body would be low in these elements, which are essential to provide your heart with energy.

I know of dozens of people who have been helped by NAET when they had no other options, and two people who credit NAET with saving their lives, one is my sister and the other is my MD.  NAET has also been very helpful in my own health.  Hope you look into it by going to www.naet.com.  Just a thought you might be interested in.  I hope you find this useful.

Arizona, sorry about your heart attack hope you are better.  I don't know if this will get read or help.  When I read your comment I went looking for all I could find.  Jewish Hospital site said that they have had results treating Prinzmetal's with 1200g of arginine OTC.  To say the least the information I found about this syndrome was enlightening since it happens mostly to women and not only had I never heard of it, I are one and need all the information I can get.

Wow, that cartoon punched a few buttons, didn't it?

Humor often involves scenarios that would never actually happen, here is the real story...

Man goes to Chiropractor who gives him exactly the advice given above

Man says "no way, I'm eating exactly what I want, I'm not living on no rabbit food" Man goes to 'real doctor' ie MD for drugs

Man doesn't mention that he can't have sex without Viagra anyway

Years later, man gleefully reports that Medicare has paid 100% for his new electric disabled cart!

Not near as funny, is it?

DIE (Doctor's Induce Exacerbation), if i remember correctly- subject to correction....According to Ron Rosedale, doctors are the 3rd leading cause of death and i imagine the stats are climbing.

A good hearty laugh is always the best medicine, but you can't buy that at your local pharmacy, they got other "goodies" waiting for you like statins, HPB garbage, heart medication, pain and arthritis concoction etc.etc.....

So it's wise to say eat and drink wisely and top it of "lots of good laugther every day", this certainly will keep the ill informed medic away from your pockets and extend your stay on god's green earth .

I would also like to add that for men and women being in a loving, caring relationship adds happiness, improved health, and years to one's life.

Actually, iatrogenic illness (dr induced inadvertantly) is the number 3 cause of death in the United States, I believe and when including all rightly and wrongly prescribed and given drugs, it becomes #1.

My dad showed me this week the results of some scan he had recently to check his heart and arteries.  The letter stated that plaque in arteries were six years below expected for his age.   The recommendation for this was to see the doctor immediately to pursue aggressive treatment!  WHAT?! I agree with Russ--avoid MDs and use some common sense instead.

I agree with you, however I also believe that doctors are giving us what we want, which is a quick fix.  Most doctors I know started out not just to make a lot of money but wanting to help people.  I have studied exercise, health and nutrition for most of my life and yet know very few people who want to hear any of it, (except you people, my "virtual friends"). I have a 2 1/2 year old son who drinks raw milk, eats healthy, has no known allergies and is almost never sick, yet kids around us are sick more and more, and continue with the antibiotics, cold medicines, etc.  Two years I was going in to a horrible allergy season and was cured with ONE accupuncture treatment, yet even my friends and family will not try it and continue to suffer through the medications and misery.  I could go on and on.  If enough people go to these doctors wanting to be helped and cured instead of treated, the doctors will be empowered by our knowledge instead of by big pharma, and we will have good doctors again.

I've seen that cartoon before. It always cracks me up. :D

It would be a really cold day in a very hot place before a doctor would ever offer constructive advice

to a patient instead of writing a ton of prescriptions.

We can all live to be 100 in good health, the trick is to avoid doctors like the plague. take charge of

our own health, exercise daily, and eat healthy nutritious foods. :)
