Smile! Some Pictures to Brighten Your Day

While happiness and general life satisfaction are associated with better health and longevity, there is plenty of proof that laughter per se can provide similar benefits.

For example, Japanese researchers showed that patients with type 2 diabetes had significantly smaller spikes in blood sugar after a meal when watching a popular comedy show compared to listening to a boring lecture.

With that in mind, consider these hilarious pictures your daily dose of 100 percent pure, unadulterated laughter medicine.

If a cat and a dog are raised together they often become good buddies. For instance puppies have a vital socialisation period that lasts from about 3 to 16 weeks old. They will bond and socialise easily with animals they are in contact with during this period. It is very important to give your young puppy a lot of exposure to a variety of situations during this period if you want a pet that easily adaptable and fits in to modern society.

Cats and dogs can get along fine. I wonder why humans can't......

After all are'nt we supposed to be the most intelligent of all species.....

Now where is that disclaimer that NO humans were harmed/injured during the setting up of these pictures?

Whatever...

They raised a smile... thanks Doc!

Let me add this very funny picture I took of my cats and let's call it "The Yawn":

www.rakuten.ne.jp/.../index.html

I live in Japan so the page is in Japanese and you have to scroll down a little to see my two kitties sitting in the window, performing a mouth examination :)

I was just taking some pictures of them while they were sitting in the window when Kormi, one of my cats decided to yawn at the very moment I pressed the shutter. The resulting picture is quite funny, I would say! As some people commented, my other cat Gluffy who is looking into Kormi's mouth is probably saying "Well, I can't see any fish bones stuck".

Although I have tons of pictures of my cats, this is one of my favorites.

Humor always makes the day better. So do animals, in my humble opinion...
and my big yard protecting dogs are afraid of cats! Guess they learned about those claws and remembered it well.
Thanks for the smiles, and please don't stop including them!

Yes, indeed those are some cute pics and some great comments

I agree that animals can brighten our day. I own 2 Greyhounds and a Whippet... my first Greyhound consoled me when I went through stillbirth and went crazy with joy when my son was born alive. She also loved to go to political events, the park, anywhere as she was a social butterfly and oh the laughs that could create. She'd never met a fuzzy dog, for instance, at the track and here she was in the pet store, confronted with something that sure smelled of dog but didn't in the least look like a dog!! (She learned). It's a dog that nuzzles up to my husband when he comes home from work stressed. It's Apollo the Whippet who is learning a knack for ball games with my son when there is just too much energy between them. Indeed, pets do help us.

I was listening to my chigong lessons CD the other night.  The Master said, put a smile on your face while doing exercises.  It makes all the muscles in the body relax.  I experience that It creates some sort of well being almost instantly.  Then I dreamed that night that I could fly when I smiled and sung "fly" in a high note.  Up I went.  Woke up smiling.
