There actually have been more than 15,000 peer reviewed studies done over the past 5 decades demonstrating how low level non-ionizing radiation interacts with biology. It is noteworthy that the studies funded by the telecommunications industry almost invariably find no adverse biological or health effects. Those done by independent scientists almost invariably do find effects.
Just three weeks ago there were two major events in San Francisco on the health and environmental effects of electromagnetic fields and radio frequency radiation. Cell phones (actualy electromagnetic waves) are just one way that cancer can be induced by impairing and weakening theimmune system. Children get cancer from the numerous other contributors (heavy pollution, bad food,hereditary factors, vaccines, from the fact that the parents didn't take care and protection during and before pregnancy and many many other contributors that Dr. M frequently discusses).
Regarding the second issue, why brain is affected and not skin or bones, one should know how the cell phones operate and than the answer is easy.
Namely, GSM phones (the EUROPE standard where I belong) DO NOT emit any radiation while in so called "idle mode" i.e. when they are in the pocket. They just "listen" to the network to see if there is signal intended for them (call,SMS...). Only once on every few hours or more (depending on network settings) they emit a short burst to tell the network they are alive. On the other hand, while speaking on the cell phone they constantly receive and emit signals. These emited signals can be received from a network antenna that might be sometimes tens of kilometers away from the cell phone so you can imagine how strong are they when they are close to your brain. That is why I believe Dr. M and others very correctly put the risk emphasis on the brain.
This is a very good question and the answer lies in the cause of cancer!

Dekalb you made a very valid point. In my case the cell phones gave me the brain tumor over many years of use. Now that i know what i know looking at many many studies both done in the past and present - I would strongly advise that any one that has children to seriously consider this next sentence carefully. "If any one has children and these parents are responsible, loving and not selfish" - To remove wireless items from their home - cordless phones - wireless modems, etc (land line is much safer). Cell phones if you must talk on them use an ear piece away from the children and try and find a window to point the antenna at. The wireless frequencies because of our fast paced life style is killing us. Children will pay the ultimate price as their brain and immune systems are not fully developed. Obviously there are many forms of cancers and tumors. We now know that cell phones and wi-fi do unrepairable damage to the DNA, so let us put our selfishness aside and think of the childeren who can be spared of the wi-fi onslaught, if we act now i hope.
We know now that Electromagnetic Radiation is going to be an epidemic, that is certain, one only needs to do a little research. Dekalb you have made a valid point Thank you and Peace.

I once offered to feed a heavy cell phone user her own cell phone on the train, but other than that, I'm not aware of anyone actually considering eating one. In one novel, however, I read about someone's dog eating one that had been offered it. It produced a minor explosion in his stomach, but other than that, no trouble. I don't know if that is based on something real the author observed or just wishful thinking.
