SusanF..where are you getting your information? This is what is wrong with this country. Folks like you talk and know not what they talk about! The US government would not pay for anyone to be euthanasized! Euthanasia is commonly seen among animals... NOT HUMANS! What a person does concerning their treatment is that persons right, but the government would not condone this, therefore, it is ludacrus to say they would pay for it.
Lisa, I'm terribly sorry to say I know someone who was euthanized. It created a terrible rift in that family because some loved this person, but the one whose right it was to request it didn't. Needless to say, it was not called "euthanization." It was called "hospice."
Hi lisaagarrison7203-
well, essentially, Susan F was correct. OHP IS the state health plan, and what state plan does not receive fed subsidy? Here is the article "Lung cancer patient, Barbara Wagner, was recently notified that her oncologist-prescribed medication that would slow the growth of cancer would not be covered by the Oregon Health Plan; the plan, however, she was informed, would cover doctor-assisted suicide should she wish to kill herself..." I do recommend reading this in its entirety (www.hyscience.com/.../moving_toward_a.php), and then google "Oregon euthanasia" or www.euthanasia.com will give you a pretty good look at what "hope" is offered to HUMANS. I won't even start on what planned parenthood "offers" our BABY HUMANS, and receives large governmental subsidies! Lisa, just where have you been? hope they are not serving you kool-aid there.
Jeremy, where I am, the waiting for a chiropractor at the VA is very long. Not only that, you can't get a referral unless you have a service connected disability that THEY think chiropractic can help. Then, if you do get approved, it's for a maximum of 8 visits, period. I have 80% VA disability, but can't get VA to approve a chiropractor. Sounds like it's different where you are. I'm glad.
OOOPS, I meant to say qualitygeek, not Jeremy. Sorry. Also, chiropractic changed my life too and it should be an option for everyone.
the "health coverage" offered by the military sounds eerily similar to the socialized medicine offered by the Democrats. We can see first hand what happens when we allow the government to control things like this. Our chiropractor was telling me that Medicare dictates so much to him that he wanted to drop it, but that would penalize his patients too much. It would be great if chiropractors would offer discounts to military personnel.
And speaking of government health care, did ya hear what happened in Oregon? Supposedly the government-run health care has refused to pay for a woman's chemo for lung cancer, but they did offer to pay for her "euthanasia". Don't get me wrong, I'm not in favor of loading one's body up with dangerous chemicals to treat cancer, but good grief!!! They'll pay for her to kill herself??????? God have mercy.
A solution to noncoverage of chiropractic is for the patient to pay for it out of pocket. It is probably cheaper than the 20% copay on the MRIs, surgeries etc. that the orthopedic specialists prescribe (which for most back problems do not help). And the insurance companies are worried about the cost and efficacy of alternative care, as if it is somehow a waste of insurance dollars.
The point is that the cost of these alternative treatments are so much less than conventional medicine that the insurance companies shouldn't worry about the "proof" of efficacy. Chiropractic adjustments work wonders for some people, while other treatments fail. The medical profession is baffled by this. I refuse to go to PTs or orthopods, because I find physical therapy and physicians uselsss for my back, as are most of the conventional exercises. The best exercise for me seems to be scrambing, crawing, bouncing, shaking over uneven surfaces. This is completely contary to conventional medicine (Don't do anything jarring if you have back problems).
I pay for a lot of things out of pocket, e.g the Egoscue Clinic, an alternative postural program that really woks but costs $180 per visit. This money is well worth it. I also ignore the idiotic wellness nurses who call me from my insurance company concerned about my health (and the effectiveness of my health care expenditures).
My sister got environmental illness from the outgassing of computes years ago. Aside from rebuilding her diet from scratch (starting with green beans and pork and adding foods singly as tolerated), she got medical care from clinical ecologists. She tells me a lot of the care was paid out of pocket.
Screw the insurance system. Rely on insurance for catastrophic care, such as trumatic injuriues and heart transplants, and be willing to pay for the rest yourself.
About people being drugged up on medications, I'd like to point out that it most of the cases they are adults and thus responsible for their decision to take them. The reason they take them is the fear to face the underlying problems and to take responsibility for their lives. I underwent a cervical spine surgery after an accident and had the option. I decided to face my fears, straighten my life situation, and refused any medicine except a few homeopathic remedies over the first years. Our body has a marvelous ability to recover, if we allow it, the same our soul. It is possible. I eat healthy, exercise regularly, sleep well, and thank God for his continuos and unconditional love and support.
I would dare to say that the establishment as it is can only exist because there are so many people dominated by their own fears.
yeah but what about the people that don't know what they're on and start being addicted to the meds?
One thing that has always disturbed me, especially because my husband is an active marine, is how little concern the military has for our military members when it comes to their health. It's pretty much the same treatment everybody on the "outside" gets......including drugs and surgery. If whatever you have gets too bad, you're out and they don't deal with you anymore. My husband would come home so sick from week-long field exercises after eating MRE's that are full of sodium and lord knows what else.......his only break is that he has a wife (me! :) who's willing to cook for him and give him fresh juices and practice with him our firm belief in treating our bodies correctly.
I agree Stephaniered87. It bothers me too. The military really does see their troops as a " property of the government" You would think they would take better care of them if thats the case. They don't care, and it's ever getting worse. us wives have to take care of our guys. Atleast they have us looking out for their health and best intrest.
My husband is a veteran of 40 yrs (28 active, 12 reserve), and my son is currently a special forces soldier serving in Southeast Asia. I totally agree, the military and the gov't don't care about the health of the troops. They just want those bodies there, no matter by what means. My husband is 80% disabled and can get all the meds he'd ever want, but does anyone care about the underlying cause? Every few years congress tries to rescind veterans health benefits. Now they're trying to raise the premiums. Thank God for all the veterans groups, retired officers groups, etc., who are powerful lobbyists on behalf of our men and women in uniform. For what is expected of them, not nearly enough is given. In case you can't tell, a huge part of my heart belongs to those who have, are, and will serve.
Stephaniered87 Good for you girl. You are so correct, using foods as medicine is the best thing you can do for your family.
I have read a number of the comments after reading the article about druging our service men and women. I am a Chiropractor in Ohio and would be willing to help any service man or women that I can at no charge. Dr. K
Facts are hard to come by, as these matters are held secret, but the the head of psychiatry for the veterans administration wrote an email that was intercepted and published. It stated that around 1200 vets were committing suicide each month from our country. So much for morale! Karma is alive and well in the American Military. When they throw their violent weight around the world in pre-emptive, baseless, immoral, wars that are designed to make their corporate friends richer, we all pay the price. Presidents cannot be trusted with this power, as Bush has proven, yet again. The people must organize on the web and assert themselves as a continuously voting fourth branch of government.
What a disgusting comment. Karma?! Many in the military are fed up with how they've been abused by the pigs in office.
sad...but true
"Wizdum", huh? You got the "dum" part right. For your info, the military has nothing to do with starting pre-emptive wars, or making "their" corporate friends richer. It's the gov't, stupid. The military goes where they are ordered to go, period. The only thing you got right was the comment about Bush.
i dont understand your logics? What's your beef with the military? They do what they are told, not what they want. It's all political, but our men and women get caught up in the loop because they loved thier country enough to die for it. Don't ever damn our military. That is just as unamerican as you can get. needless to say, you piss alot of people off ( in good reasoning) Don't ever damn them!! EVER!
Wow! How did I get negative points, and wizdum didn't get any? Is it because I cracked on his name? How petty! However, if that truly offended people, then I offer a sincere apology. May I suggest people look beyond something that small, and actually read my main message, which was in defense of our men and women in uniform. What could be offensive about that?
Thank you for allowing this short rant - my first negative points! Ouch!
Vaccines in the Army!! Slightly different topic, but......
A customer/friend in Michigan was given 9 vaccines in 1 day for his departure to the middle east, for the army....it WACKED OUT his immune system (too much at one time) and his health is taken a toll....FYI = warn anyone who may incounter this "preparation". Peace, Mark
As my sons-in-law have discovered (one active, one veteran) the first response to a medical visit is "you’re depressed, take this". They ignore the symptoms. One went in with a gall bladder attack and that was their reaction. They can only treat ONE symptom at a time and do not look at the whole picture. It is so sad. They deserve better!
You do not have to be in the military to experience that kind of medical mal-practice. I finally fired my HMO because of it.
Each of us has to take charge of our own medical care, few doctors are trained or equipped these days. I get the results of my lab tests and head directly to my computer to see what Science has discovered about what Nature has provided.
A few years ago when I was foolishly on the contraceptive pill, the one I was on made me suicidally depressed. I knew it was the pill so went to change it, and my doctor refused to change the pill I was on, instead trying to put me on antidepressants!! I kicked up a huge stink, refused to leave until he'd written a new prescription, changed, and although I was still reacting badly to the new one and only took it for six weeks the depression was gone within 8 days.
Hitler drugged his soldiers with speed (and himself), to keep them going and to inhibit their conscience so they could commit atrocities more easily. Has our government become the gestapo?
And Japan invented the drug known as Ice, for their kamikaze pilots.
I'd like to see an article on how we can push for military Nurses to be trained in EFT training. To me this should be a part of boot camp to avoid reliance on drugs.
I seriously think that they need to rotate men Or women... out of battle zones and give them time with their families. Presently there is a sort system that has some men staying longer tours because they handle the stress better, but waiting till the men have had too much is not a smart move to me.
Anyone that needs a drug to cope should not be on the battle field. That is plain scary.
Bananna
moebears,
first thing..please hug your husband for me and tell him I said Thank You. I know what it means to whole heartly really appreciate what these men and women do every day for us and this great nation. Our health care for our men and women and retired really needs to be evaluated. They all deserve quality health care. we have to stand up to change that. I will gladly take the stand. I appreciate what every soilder has done for this country. they are all a vital part of what makes this country so great. ( EVEN if we have a nut for a president )
Thanks, lisa. Hugs and appreciation have been conveyed to said husband. You made our day. Back at you and your hubby, as well.
What better way to test their garbage drugs than on people who cannot refuse the drugs, and can be ordered NOT to talk about said tests.
Anti-depressants are not necessary, they don' t work.
The solution is usually treating adrenal fatigue
www.freewebs.com/.../physiology.htm
infinitesymmetry
I can assure you anti depressants DO work and can be necessary in some cases (temporarily).
Adrenal fatigue seems to develop slowly, whereas depression (if triggered by an external event) can happen almost overnight. Solutions are rarely as simple as you seem to think they are - the body is a complicated thing.
Julieanne, it's very true what you say. Even Dr M says antidepressants don't work, but they do. I've seen them work for 3 clinically depressed people, but I know of one women for which they don't.She has no known "issues" to sort out. Goes through stages of wanting to die. Appears to be genetic in her case....sister & father also. I'm not saying though, that meds are the only treatment.
YOu are right Dr. Mercola. EFT is outstanding. I combine it with healings also, I have had clients with PTSD and they got a normal life. WE have to take care of our self and our fellow Citizens, becsue no one else do it. WE have to take the responsibility our self, because if we want the gov in our countries to do so, they have to admit that there is a problem and they wont do that. Sad but the truth so far. People need help no matter what the gov says.
Seems like there should be a program to distribute anti-depressant and anti-anxiety drugs to the agitators and terrorists..... Then again, perhaps they'll get them through the water system over there....
I was very recently angered to find that my physician recommended anti-depressants over hormone replace therapy. I very angrily protested her trying to push these meds on me when I was suffering from the common symptoms a cessassation of my reproductive years. The problems that I am having are constant fatique, poor recall, insomnia, weight gain, irritability, and a bit of sadness. Why would she press anti-depressants on me while she even acknowledge that I was going through the change of life? She said that hormone replacement therapy was connected to cancer in women. When I asked for bio-identicals instead, she said they didn't have this service.
Fast forward to two years ago, when I brought my young teen daughter there for treatment. She was experiencing painful periods. Instead of prescribing pain medicine for my daughter, this same doctor wanted to put her on birth control. Both my daughter and I were horrified. My daughter was adament (to this doctor's chagrin) that she preferred the pain medication.
Could some of the "mental problems" experienced by soldiers be caused by the FOOD they are given to eat ?
How much MSG, for instance, is in those "K-rations" ?
Previous generations in the military were given cigarettes by the bucket load, to cope with stress. In old film footage they're all puffing away. The consequences back then was "only" heart disease, cancer & emphasemia. (wish I had spell check when on vital votes) It's so much worse now for them, with more drugs & vaccines. I doubt if many would choose the military as a career if they knew of the potentially devastating health consequences from serving in combat.
You are not going to like what I will be saying (but you already know these anyhow). Soldiers in the developed world, just like people in the mainstream are babied (and bamboozled) by big business (pharmaceutical companies and food corporations). Consider their enemies from Iraq to the guerillas in the mountain highlands (of the Philippines to South America): do they undergo the same combat stress as their counterparts? If they do, would they be popping pills? Much less, would they take intoxicating drinks while off-duty? Unlikely. See, these "enemy combatants" have one objective: and that is to defend themselves from the First World's invasion offensive (being the prime motivating factor).
CindyLouWho,
I've been in Gulfport,Ms. AND I PREFER WATER!!!!
The US Army has been drugging soldiers since WWII when they learned from the *** about the effects of amphetamines to boost aggressive behavior in combat. Elvis Presley got hooked on Dexedrine while stationed in Germany in 1959. Elvis believed that if it was prescribed by a doctor, it must be safe. We all know he died of a drug overdose in 1977.
to lisaagarrison7203. Medically assisted suicide is legal in Oregon, voted for by the citizens, in an open election; God have mercy.
I stand corrected! Guess I should have researched a bit further. It's still wrong though.
God I love our government. 20% is not that big a number, though. It would be safe to say that nearly 20% of our population is on at least one of the drugs mentioned above. So, I'm not surprised. Especially in a combat zone. And the soldiers have a choice not to take the medicine. No one has a gun to their head if they refuse. Except maybe the enemy. Personally, joining the military is one of the worst things I could think of doing with my life. So I don't. But as the old saying goes, "Somebody's got to do it." Now the military has access to school records, with the student's permission on an SAT form or something similar. That means they look for the students with the lowest grades and aggressively recruit them. I saw it in my own high school maybe five years ago. I'm willing to bet that the ones who want a college education are pushed up to the front lines. AN ARMY OF ONE: You're going to be the only one out there.
Komic, you are correct in your assessment of military enlistment as a very bad deal. They overstress the soldiers and their promises aren't worth the paper they're printed on. But they are getting away with this because so many people take the attitude that someone's gotta do it--but not me, and then conveniently forget about the hell the less fortunate are going through. We need a draft to wake people up. You know why they don't draft your and everyone else's butt though they desperately need to? Because that would be the end of their profitable little war, real quick.
Check your High School Civics book. The military doesn't get to decide when it goes to war; it goes where and when it is ordered. Don't blame the military for being involved in Iraq or Afghanistan.
I've been reading all these great letters you all have written, and it concerns me because one of my sons, he was wounded in Iraq, suffers from TBI, and developed tics as well, is on 2 strong meds, not sure what they are...but for his severe headaches and tics...it worries me that he takes them and they help to a point,,but you are right OldWlf, like my husband says, "Thank you, Mr Bush"
I wish there was a way he didn't have to be on tho meds....just had to write this.
What a surprise - he recommends EFT...it doesn't work for everyone!
Do a study on how many of the antidepressants are being helpful to the troops, then you have credibility.
