Are these instances merely coincidence, or are they something more? It all depends on how you look at it. As the famous words of Albert Einstein sum up quite nicely: “There are two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.”
Ditto, 4Hand Healthy. There are no coincidences.
Well, I believe there are coincidences (as described above--events happening together that have meaning), there are just no "accidents."
holisticfuture, I bow to your superior semantics; I stand corrected! :)
I agree, I love stories like this as well! I have a story and I will shorten it but a man I know that I heard speak before was a wild teen and drank and drugs and the whole bit and he was raised differently than this but went "astray" I guess you could say. Anyhow, he was driving one night (drunk, of course) and he literally ran into a ladies house. Crashed through her yard and door and thank goodness no one was hurt but the lady had compassion on him and did not have him ticketed, she only brought him to the hospital and made sure he was taken care of. Well, he straightened out his life and got involved in church and was introduced to a young lady that he wanted to marry so he went to finally "meet her mother" and while there he wanted to be honest with the mom and tell her he had been through a rough stage in his life and he told her the story of his youth. She got up from the table with tears in her eyes and left the room. He looked at his girlfriend and she shrugged her shoulders, he figured he'd blown it. Well, about 2 minutes later she came running in with a photo album and she opened it to a newspaper article about HIS accident and it turns out SHE was the compassionate woman that had carried him to the hospital! They have been married now for like 15 years!! Coincidence? I don't think so!
WOW Chrisda! I thought I'd come back here and read some of the new posts. I'm so glad I did. Thanks for sharing such a great story!!
Sounds a bit freaky alright but doesn't it put a lot of importance on the names of people and things?
PapaBear and Kissamee: What on earth does eating chips, pizza, fries, ice cream, or soda have to do with a person being born with spinal bifida, crippled limbs, mutated mind, or any degree of those maladies. Those are choices? Speaking of MINDS??????
