Babies born using natural (no meds) have a less likely chance of suicide or dug abuse. Is that a surprise? If we drug Americans before the emerge from the womb - what can we expect for the rest of their lives? When that OB nurse pushes "just a little Demerol (a heroin analog), to take the edge off" - that's a narcotic. While it's relaxing you it's also relaxing the uterus, which is supposed to be working!! Surprise! Labor slows, speed it up with another drug - usually pitocin, which is much more painful a contraction - then epidural (a cocaine analog) - can you really effectively push when you are numb? Hence the over 31% US c-section rate. We wouldn't sell cocaine or heroin on the playground, but it is detectable in the scalp blood 3 minutes after the epidural is administered during labor. Diet, exercise, a healthy attitude, and education are key. Just say not to drugs!
“Remember, corporations are a creation of the government, an entity created to protect people from their wrong doings. Corporations would not exist in a free market.”
Corporations are the free association of people who pool their capital together for business. Corporations can exist in a free market or, in the case that we have now, a corporate welfare state. The problems we have with corporations are rooted in government preference, intervention, legal bribing, and cronyism.
"Corporations have never existed in a free-market."
This doesn’t mean a corporation CANNOT exist in a free market. I'll post a quote from Murray Rothbard from an article entitled "What is the Free Market?":The Free market is a summary term for an array of exchanges that take place in society. Each exchange is undertaken as a voluntary agreement between two people or between groups of people represented by agents. These two individuals (or agents) exchange two economic goods, either tangible commodities or nontangible services. Thus, when I buy a newspaper from a news dealer for fifty cents, the news dealer and I exchange two commodities: I give up fifty cents, and the news dealer gives up the newspaper. Or if I work for a corporation, I exchange my labor services, in a mutually agreed way, for a monetary salary; here the corporation is represented by a manager (an agent) with the authority to hire.Note he draws no exclusions between the free market and corporatism."They are a creation of the government that protects people from shoddy business practices."
It was modeled after the way churches work. Being a member of a church does not expose you to liability if the church is targeted for a lawsuit and the same goes for investors in corporations. There are libertarian, free market arguments both in support of and against limited corporate liability.
I don't believe you guys haven't hit on the real problem.
The media. They are INVESTED in pushing drugs on us. I would guess that nearly 50% of their ad revenue comes from pharamceutical companies and the AMA/APA
So, not only do they take the money to run the ads, they create content to sell the drugs to us through "news" stories.
Have you seen a magazine lately? I am slowly weeding nearly all magazines out of my life because of the BLATANT pharm ads and bogus "real stories" that insidiously sell us the same drugs that grace the ad pages.
The next time you pick up a woman's magazine, check it out. Invariable there will be some sob story of a woman who was sooooo sick and how she fought through it with determination, grit and invariably, a new pill. Then you turn the page and lo and behold an ad for that same pill is there in all it's 5 page glory.
Insidious marketing and government commands are brainwashing society.
People as a whole are so brain-washed, it's very depressing to me. I keep getting told that more and more people are 'finding out'. But I've been hearing that for over a decade. And teachers, social workers, well-meaning but ignorant professionals and every day people, have NO idea what drives our medical system, especially in North America.
I'm so tired of being viewed as a quack or a crack pot.
It's nice to come to this site and see others who are informed and savvy. How refreshing.
welcome pooky.
I'm the family crackpot too!
we have lots in common already
I feel the same way. I told a coworker I was applying to naturopathic school instead of conventional medicine. He had never even heard of it. After I explained it he told me, "so you want to be a quack doctor"? This particular coworker had cancer and takes about 10 prescriptions every day along with his pile of bacon and cream cheese. He also wipes down the table before he eats with cavi wipes that even says on the box may cause cancer. It's very frustrating because I really want to help people but some are so stuck in their ways even though their ways are killing them. Why wouldn't someone at the very least try a natural cure first before subjecting themselves to drugs with deadly side effects that will never cure there underlying problem? I love Dr. Mercola and this website. It's giving me the motivation to pursue my dreams and not get discouraged by the brainwashed society that we live in.
I was raised with the idea that everything can be fixed with a pill - I remember thinking everytime something went wrong, whether it was my weight, a little toothache, headache, pms, unhappiness, that "someone should come up with a pill" so I could have my ice cream and not experience any ill effects.
Well, one day I heard about this thing called "side effects" and I thought it was a new concept!
People I talk to have no idea their drugs have side effects, or that there might be a "natural cure" for their malady, such as proper nutrition.
So I think we just need to get the word out.
Dr. Mercola's comments remind me of this cartoon I saw in college.

“Home schooled children don't have this problem.”
This study is comparing American kids to kids from Western Europe. Where do you think the European kids go to school?
This study seems to be pretty much on the money with its conclusions, even if they’re not complete: regulatory practices and cultural beliefs about the role of medication in emotional and behavioral problems, different diagnostic classification systems, government cost restrictions in Europe, the larger number of child psychiatrists per capita in the US, and direct to consumer drug advertising.
We can add issues that Dr. Mercola has been driving home for years: poor American diets, vaccines, and various dangerous chemicals play a key role in the development of childhood behavior problems, along with Americans’ blind trust in mainstream medicine to cure their ills.
“If you really want to help your kids instead of abusing them, take them out of government schools now!!”
Where did you go to school?
“Public education is a drone factory;”
PRIVATE education is a drone factory. Most of our working lives are drone factories.
“I went thru it too, had to slough off all that accreted bs, but for most, the barnacle-coat is for life”
Every level of our lives involves dealing with propaganda of all varieties. Some people are obviously harder suckers for it than others; that’s one of the goals of parenting: to instill a HEALTHY skepticism in our children. The goal is to be aware of the system and fight for its change, but maintain your sanity as you’ll always have to live within it. I’ve met plenty from the lunatic fringe who make these same arguments and accusations who also cannot deal with life as it is. These people will never be happy.
“(does that make me more, or less credible?)”Neither. The question was not asked as a litmus test of any kind.
“To be fair, Swami, the differences cited between W. Europe & America is one only of degree.”
But they are degrees in opposite directions: government schools in more socialist societies, less medication. The contention was that government schools here are at fault. If this is so, then these other countries should experience at least the same degree of effect of childhood medications. This sounds stupid because it IS stupid. As the article and my post stated, there are many interrelated causes.“ not to mention the possibilty of loosening the state's grip on the hearts & minds of posterity”
Does sending kids to Catholic school do this? How about private schools? I know on at least an anecdotal basis that it’s a very mixed result. Government schools may be a part of the problem but they are not THE problem.
“Last, Europe (Prussia) invented 'public education' for purposes of regimentation & indoctrination . . .”
I know, and Halloween began as a Celtic ritual to gain access to the spirit world and Christmas began as a pagan celebration. And yes, I’m fully familiar with the leftist demagogues who are hell-bent on social engineering.
Of COURSE drugs are prescribed more to kids here, than in Europe.
In Europe the government program has to pay for it, thus fewer pills.
In America the insurance companies pay, so it raises the costs for those of us that don't buy into the pill conspiracy.
Simple economics. Government doesn't pay, pharmaceutical companies and doctors are rich, thus highly taxed, and highly subsidized, why would our government want things to change?
Be aware that the government stock buy-ins in banks is going to do the same thing. Think about it, the banks need to make money, the deadbeats aren't paying and the good payers are being forced to pay more through outrageous interest, fees and fines, now, the government will not only make the tax money if the bank turns a profit, they have a vested interest in the bank making more money. And the only way a bank makes money is to charge more and more to those that pay.
This formula (government promotion creates huge industry which controls our choices AND lines the government's coffers) is ruining the middle class from all angles. All angles.
And instead of standing up and demanding less government, what do we sheep do? Demand BIGGER, more greedy government. We have exactly the government we keep voting for.
We have to wake up, or I fear all is lost and all of a sudden "solyent green" doesn't seem so far fetched. For our own good, of course.
My Grandaughter just came back from Dr. visit, 15 mo's. old. The Dr. wants to put her on infant soy milk--ugh--Do not know much in this field, any opinions appreciated.
thx
Mike
Check out the Weston Price Foundation's website. It has good reasons NOT to use soy milk for babies.
I know a mother who's baby did very well on raw goat milk. It turned out to be the only thing that her baby could tolerate. If I could not breast feed, I would use raw goat milk to feed my baby.
Dr. Mercola had a recent article about the dangers of soy and soy milk. One biggie is that it can delay puberty in boys and bring about premature puberty in girls.
It can cause a host of other problems, too. Soy is strongly anabolic. A consistent diet of anabolic foods can promote cancer.
I cured my own Stage 4 cancer ten years ago by factoring that into my own treatment recipe...got rid of the cancer in less than two weeks! It cost me about $10. Today it might cost $20 to $25.
It's working for others, too:

The best to you.

Together we can cure cancer - one person at a time!
No surprises here with the monetary rewards offered to many School Systems, to give them the names of students to drug, and parents being unaware of the consequences, I am surprised only that the numbers are not higher. We have elected officials who are dumb, or they just follow the money, and do what ever these large Industries, (BIG PHARMA) want.
It is of course up to we the people to educate our elected officials as best we can as to the dangers of having what can only be called "junkies" sitting in class trying to learn. This is something of an impossible feat I know but we the informed must do our best to get the message out. Start writing your elected officials, and send these people a mountain of letters and make many, many phone calls to their offices.
It's my opinion that the RX Culture of today is sending a message to society that we are not sustainable beings without the help of our government & corporations with all of their arms of services, i.e. the FDA, Big Pharma, Petroleum companies, Soy manufacturing companies... & many more. Not all services & companies are bad, but many are very unnecessary & some are downright deceptive & dangerous. It's almost like there is a collective undermining of what we humans are naturally capable of. Often times we must achieve healing through the aid of nature, which is always the best place to start when we need help. Believing & finding that nature has all the answers reinforces to me that it was "designed" that way. I personally believe God created all things & He doesn't make mistakes, but we've gotten away from believing that, & we've allowed our limited thinking to stand in place of His perfect limitlessness. We need to return to a strong belief in & fear of God if we want to experience life the way He intended it to be. It's my belief that God gave us all the tools we need here on earth to live robustly healthy & content lives, & it's our job to use the brilliant minds & talents he gifted us with to discover all the uses that nature has to offer us. Nothing is meaningless & everything & everyone has a purpose, & when we started deciding for ourselves that God is just a spiritual thing that has no bearing on all other aspects of life, or that God doesn't exist, we began immensely limiting our world-view & taking life into our own fallible hands. Instead we must broaden our minds to see that God has designed all things for us & all we truly need to do is trust Him & ask Him to guide us into a life of completeness. I've been a Christian for eight years & my journey has been difficult because there is a so much to learn & unlearn about the way the world truly works, but He has set me free & given me health, wisdom, joy & love. God Bless
Your comment about VA TECH mentions that a student with a severe untreated mental illness may have done this because of being overdosed on meds when meds and counseling are exactly what he needed. I agree there is overdoseing going on to a grand scale but dont even begin to include what happened at VA TECH in your example. A VA TECH dad whose son was standing outside the door of Norris Hall while his close friend was being killed.
Children are the future. The adults of today were the children of yesteryear. This is already an insane, narcotic-poisoned toxic society. What will it be tomorrow ?
Wow! I just found out what an epidural is ! a cocaine-like narcotic... well, that's just insane !
Making babies into narcotic addicts even before they're born...
The war on drugs is no more than a drug on competition: BigPharma wants everyone to be addicted to THEIR cartel drugs - not colombian cartel drugs.
please everyone read "selling sickness". it will be the most important book..health wise you read this decade.
USA is morally and economically bankerupt, the reason: the lust for money (is the root of all evil) That people become so greedy that they even will harm children to get money is very sad. That so many have become like this is a catastrophee..
