One of my favorite things about the holidays is all the beautiful music I get to enjoy this time of year.

Holiday music is uplifting. It brings happy memories of times past and reminds us of the true spirit of the season.

Much of the music heard during the holidays is classic year in and year out, but there are artists and arrangements I prefer over others. I also like to sample new arrangements and recordings of favorite old standards.

I’ve found a great way to listen to my favorite holiday music while I’m at my computer.

A few years ago, I discovered Pandora. It’s the best music site I’ve found on the Internet. I use it every day year-round for uninterrupted, commercial-free music. It’s completely free, and I set up stations according to my personal preferences.

For the holiday season, it’s easy to quickly customize Pandora to play your personal selections of the music you like to hear this time of year.

Just type in the name of your favorite singer or group, followed by the word “holiday.” For example: Bing Crosby (Holiday). Pandora will automatically build a music station for you filled with holiday music by your chosen artist and others similar to him.

Listening to holiday music at your computer is a great way to stay in the spirit of the season while you work or take care of other online business. Music is also powerful tool for stress relief and motivation – two things you might also find useful this time of year!
