Wow, you've put on some weight Dr. Mercola! You'd better hold the fries when you bbq up that antelope ;-)
So...I watched the antelope rescue video and was wondering...when did you grow your hair that long?
That is hyterical!!!
You saved the day, but the poor cheetah is without a meal. Also, this just proves how much faster a person can run when they eat right! lol!
Good video.
LOL - I hope you left the hungry little guy a bowl of kibbles.
I was once gazing out my kitchen window when I saw a hawk swoop down and knock a goldfinch from my thistle feeder. Outraged,I ran outside and yelled at the hawk scaring it into a nearby high tree. I gently retrieved the terrified little finch. It died of a heart attack in my hand at right about the same moment the still hungry hawk swoop down and grab another finch off my feeder. My efforts caused the death of two finches instead of one. Lesson learned..ya gotta eat.
Funny stuff. But I'm glad no one can really do this. Cheetahs are a very endangered species.
Stealing a meal from one wouldn't be a prudent thing to do. It's hard enough for them as it is.
Just like the hawk, kitty's gotta eat...
Lighten up people!!! we need something hilarious sometimes.
Seriously, You should get your adrenals checked. People with adrenal insuff. have a difficult time with hilarity.
I spent many years living in various African countries and my wife became involved in rescuing and rehabilitating various species that had been hunted for zoos (a common technique poachers use when hunting for live species to sell is to kill the parents and capture the young. Sometimes the young still escape or the authorities are able to catch the poachers but the orphans need to be cared for until they are old enough to take care of themselves). Anyway, we were fortunate to witness (and many of you may have seen the famous video of this) a hippopotamus protect a young antelope from a crocidile. Amazing.
Ok Clyde,
No fair putting in the story without the URL.

My. my! Dr. Mercola, you sure have proved that your health and nutritional regimine works! So, when did you take on Superman-like qualites, able to outrun the fastest land animal on earth? Let's see.......by my calculations, that would mean you can run in excess of 70 mph! Wow! With that kind of speed, you're in the wrong business! Forget your medical practice! You need to market WHATEVER it is that causes you to run "faster then a speeding cheeta"!!!
Oh yeah, I already know what it's called........HOLLYWOOD SPECIAL EFFECTS!
Nice try Doc! NEXT!
The cheetah looked confused!! Nice video though.
LOL! Man, that guy can run! I get the feeling the cheetah is thinking "What the heck??? Guess the man wants to eat it himself."
Antelope are not an endangered species. The cheetah is. Humans should never interfere with animals in the wild, unless truly exceptional circumstances apply. More species have become extinct due to humans in the last hundred years than occurred naturally over many millenia.
A lesson in economic ecology can be learned from this video and the many comments observing that the cheetah and perhaps even its young were deprived of a meal because of someone's interference in the animal ecology.
The recent multi-trillion dollar government bailouts of failed banks and other businesses took away scarce capital from those who could employ it more efficiently creating value and not destroying it. That is the meaning of profit and loss. Those who, as perceived by customers, create value in excess of the costs of inputs are rewarded with profits. Those who don't are net destroyers of wealth and will lose money and go out of business.
Just as in the video cheetahs were deprived of food by human interference, we as a society will be deprived of a better life because of government interference in the economy.
Cheetahs run up to 70mph. Man runs about 10 mph. Could this "doctored video" be any more fake? I like the parts where the man is larger than either animal, and the antelpe's feet are still moving even thought it is being "carried"
Previously commented but you realize that the Cheetah was probably hungry, persuing this innocent animal as nature intended. As much as I loathe to see "nature at work" it is a given that the circle of life means the death of some. The worst atrocity I've seen is the blatant killing of chimps/gorillas/etc. by the worst enemy, man! May the Cheetah find another meal, the prey succumbing to death without pain. Perhaps I hope for too much but I have an abundance of kindness within me. No, I am not vegetarian; should be because I have seen the slaughterhouse performance. I have also witnessed homestead relatives with gardens, chickens, cattle, and goats. Everything respected for its intended use.
Was that for real???????
Wonderful! Now you can save all of them. Of course, the Cheetahs may all die out. ;c) But that was a very funny and amusing video.
Am I gullible? Di you REALLY do what the video shows? I love it on principle but have some doubts... A friend of mine in New Mexico heard a noise outside her window, rushed out in time to see a huge owl making off with her little dog in its talons. She was in time to kick the owl's butt and he released her dog. My friend was from Texas. What more can I say!
Out run a cheetah did you?
So what's the cheetah supposed to eat?
Well, if this is for real, you were running but not thinking. So you want to protect animals? Which of these two populations is at risk - not the antilope.
So what does the Cheetah and it's offspring live on if you save an antelope?
Is it April first already? Very funny.
Is this for real? I am quite gullible sometimes. I'm sure plenty of people didn't question it.
cheetas have to eat to.... It's all part of the animal kingdom.
funny one..that guy knows about RUNNING!..who's going to save the Cheetah then? whats he going to eat for dinner???
Strong like bull.
Fast like wind.
Full....... like outhouse.
Sory. Just came to mind as I watched that. We used that line regularly in our household when the situation called for it.
That's not really fair tough..interfereing with nature, should just leave nature let it run it's course. Funny video thogh..so how come you never went into the olympics if you can outrun a cheetah that easy?
lol
OH, but Dr. Mercola, don't you know cheetahs are endangered? They need their food! Especially this one, if you're actually able to run faster than it.... ;-)
Why exactly does anyone think that it is so great the the Antelope was saved?
This is the Natural Order of the World, get used to it.
The Cheetah was robbed of his dinner. You would see Cheetahs starve?
I feel foir the Cheetah.
That video was from a French commercial for Charal, video.google.com/videoplay
Yeah, right....interfering in the order of nature is not "rescue"...it is just more of the same interference that has created the horrific imbalance we now have..
how would you feel if someone snatched YOUR dinner from you?
How did they (the camera people) do this? Did they hire the Bionic Man for his film clip? Cheetas cannot run 25 mph at full speed but over 60 mph!! And this guy passed the cheeta like it was standing stil?l Give me a break, or did he get a B12 shot (like a pint of it)?
I don't beleive it. A Cheetah can run up to 25 miles per hour and that one looked like it was going pretty fast. I don't think even the best 100 metre runner can attain that sort of speed. It's fun to watch it though.
Kinda relieved I don't have to comment to say Save the Cheetahs!
I mean if in fact you could steal food from Cheetahs, it would be incredibly cruel and vicious, you know.
Let's hope the Cheetah wasn't feeding cubs. One missed kill can can be the difference between life and death for Cheetah cubs. I know this was for a laugh.... but important to remember that unlike the human animal, in nature no animal kills for sport or enjoyment - just survival. As an Austringer I would have been intrigued to see the hawk doing what it does so perfectly and naturally.
That is awesome!
way to go, Doc. Except, wait, didn't run the wrong way?
Wasn't you supposed to protect the CHEETAH from losing her catch?, since it's the cheetah which is CRITICALLY ENDANGERED and already eradicated in most of Western Asia and India.
What supplements do yuo take that allow you to run that fast and be that strong. Amazing! I must have some.
I know it is a fake because the animals run faster than a man kan, but maybe you are superman?
LOL! i knew you were a runner, Dr. Mercola, but i had no idea how fast you are!
Something doesn't seem right. A cheetah can sprint up to 70 mph. The human world record holder in the 100 meter sprint ran at about 23 mph. Even if the antelope and cheetah in the video were sprinting at 35 mph, which would presumably be a leisurely pace for the cheetah, the guy in the video comes out of no where, surpassing the cheetah to grab the antelope! Maybe this was the Greek god, Mercury, and no mere mortal.
Oh my gosh!! I was bracing myself for something truly serious! This was too funny! Needed a good laugh, thanks!
i love how the cheetah is like wtf
That was great! You just made my day!
The video may be old, but I hadn't seen it yet. Thanks for the laugh, Doctor; I needed that one.
I see that non of your fans fell for this - - including me!
That was too funny!
Just like the older lady said in Harry met Sally in the famous deli scene, "I'll have what she's having!"
An old one but always good for a hearty laugh. Thank you Dr Mercola.
This is clearly doctored up, why do you waste our time with this?!
Pretty lame.
megabear -- way to go. We need more people like you, who actually learn from their experiences, rather than use them to further inflate their big ego.
Interfering with wilderness always proves foolish, as we are unable to foresee the consequence of our action.
People kill endangered snakes because they (needlessly) fear them, but they are mawkish about seals which are an overpopulated vermin and destroy fish stocks and habitat.
