World's Scariest Job?

Yes that is a REALLY scary job. No doubt about it. Now if only there would be a bit on meat packing. I still consider that to be one of the absolute worst and scariest jobs.

You are not kidding that is the scariest job in the world... This make the deadliest catch look like a walk in the park :)

Now you know there has to be a safer way to clean windows. Risking life and limb for clean windows -- there is not enough money in the world to make me consider that. Maybe they seek out base jumpers. Parachute anyone? Or maybe one of those flying-squirrel suits.

What was it? All I get is: "This video is no longer available..."

By the sound of it, many of you seem to be under the impression that these workers are entrusting their lives to a granny-knot or two.

Perhaps none of you climbed trees when you were little—or cliffs, either. Perhaps none of you rode roller-coasters, or motor-cycles, or surf-boards, snowboards or skis... therefore, perhaps some of you are lacking of experience from which relevant wisdom can be gleaned.

I used to paint sky-scrapers. Take it from me: at this height, proper safety protocol requires redundant redundancy, at all times—to the effect that any possible failure is fully accounted for (and then some). With such redundancy in safety, fear is but an irrational thing.

What is required to work up high is self-control, intelligence, diligence and a little bravery. If you're the type to be immobilized and/or driven to irrationality by your hormonal responses, then a job like this is not for you.

I have come to understand that even the most deeply-embedded instinctual feelings can be tamed.

Oh, my God!  I could never do that job.  I'd be shaking so much I would probably have a seizure.  Heights are dangerous for a reason and forget washing windows that high.  Who cares?  Who would volunteer for a job like that?  One mistake and you're dead.

Yes the video is no longer available, but the antenna comment from Brian1 suggests that this was the one I saw earlier, it was a cell tower tech climbing up, with a camera on his helmet. Hm, let me see if I can find it on my Facebook page: ok, "A climb up the tallest tower". Yep, it seems that the video is no longer available. Too bad... Was indeed scary.

I wonder if the radiation from the antenna would affect the health of the technician or the office workers. It must be powerful.
