Warning: Why You Should Always Avoid Using this Popular Electronic Device as Recommended

Recent research came to the conclusion that your laptop is, paradoxically, an unsafe place to use your laptop computer, “which consequently should be renamed to not induce customers towards an improper use,” according to the researchers.

The electromagnetic fields produced by laptop computers likely induce currents within your body at unsafe levels.  Laptops connected to the internet through Wi-Fi can also decrease sperm motility and increase sperm DNA fragmentation.

According to Green Med Info:

“Laptop computers are far more convenient than desktops and difficult to avoid, especially if your livelihood is in any way connected to computer work and the internet. An effort should be made to use them cautiously and to avoid putting them directly on your lap.”

In fact, not only should it not be put on your lap, but you should not type on it.  I have used a gauss meter on many notebook computers, and found EMF levels higher than 100 milligauss on most of them.  Safe ranges are less than 0.3.   I do still have a notebook, but I have been using an external keyboard ever since I found out, and I never put the device on my lap unless there is a 1 foot cushion under the notebook as that is about how far the field extends out

This high level of EMF does not appear to be present in tablets like the iPad, which are in the acceptable range.
