Acidic foods: Acidic foods, like oranges, limes, lemons and tomatoes, may cause further damage to the lining of your throat. Soured or pickled foods may also irritate your throat.

Spicy foods: Foods that contain spicy seasonings and sauces should be avoided, since they may aggravate your throat and cause burning sensations.
