Dangerously Misguided Universal Infant Hepatitis B Vaccination Policy

The centralfact, and the one that helps to explain these insane recommendations,is that the maker of hepatitis B vaccine, Merck, makes onebillion dollars a year from this vaccine.

A billion dollarsa year goes a long way toward influencing public policy.

Whois behind this?

The group thatis pushing this through is called The Hepatitis B coalition.Part of the Immunization Action Coalition, this group wasstarted by a $750,000 grant from the CDC. It is supportedby the World Health Organization, World Bank, RockefellerFoundation and ongoing funding from Smith-Kline, Merck, Aventisand Johnson & Johnson.

Let us not forgetthat it has been less than three years since the federal governmentasked the drug companies to take mercuryout of this vaccine, and they still haven't complied.

I have seenmany dozens of children who were given this vaccine on thefirst day of life and subsequently developed autism. Others, like Michael Belkin's daughter, weren't as lucky and diedimmediately after the vaccine.

Michael is asuccessful Wall Street Financial analyst with his own company, and has testified to Congress on thisissue and regularly forwards news health stories to me.

In the single-dosehepatitis B vials, the drug companies have replaced the mercurywith aluminum, which is another potent neurotoxin that hasbeen associated with Alzheimer's.But who knows what damage it will do to the immature centralnervous system of a one-day old infant.

The multi-dosehepatitis B vials still contain mercury.

Folks, hepatitisB is about as difficult to catch as AIDS. Namely, you nearlyalways need to have blood or sexual contact of some sort. That is why the main risk factors are IV drug abusers andthose who engage in sex with multiple partners.

Ishepatitis vaccine safe?

The VaccineAdverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) was developed by thegovernment to report vaccine reactions. Many experts believethat only 10% of the adverse reactions are reported thoughas reporting is not mandated by law.

Even with only10% of the problems being reported there were nearly 25,000VAERS hepatitis B reports from July 1990 to October 31, 1998,showing 439 deaths and 9673 serious reactions involving emergencyroom visits, hospitalization, disablement or death.

The presenceof findings such as brain edema in healthy infants who dievery soon after receiving hepatitis B vaccine is profoundlydisturbing, especially in view of the frequency of neurologicalsymptoms in the VAERS.

Doesthis make any sense?

IsHepatitis B vaccine effective in newborns?

Vaccine-derivedimmunity is thought to be short-lived. Between 30-50% of vaccinatedindividuals may lose their antibodies within 7 years.

Up to 60% ofpersons who initially respond will lose detectable antibodieswithin 12 years. So that means that these vaccines will providelittle to no protection to the real risks of acquiring hepatitisB, promiscuous sexual behavior and IV drug abuse.

Doesthis make any sense?

Howmany children are hurt or helped by Hepatitis B vaccine?

Hepatitis Bis a rare, mainly blood-transmitted disease. In 1996 only54 cases of the disease were reported to the CDC in the 0-1age group. There were 3.9 million births that year, so theobserved incidence of hepatitis B in the 0-1 age group wasjust 0.001%. In the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System(VAERS), there were 1,080 total reports of adverse reactionsfrom hepatitis B vaccine in 1996 in the 0-1 age group, with47 deaths reported.

Let us put thisin simpler terms. For every child with hepatitis B there were20 that were reported to have severe complications. Let usalso remember that only 10% of the reactions are reportedto VAERS, so this means:

Traditionalmedicine is harming 200 children to protect one from hepatitisB.

Doesthis make any sense?

Howserious i a Hepatitis B infection?

The numbersspeak for themselves.

Approximately50% of patients who contract Hepatitis B develop no symptomsafter exposure.

However, theexposure ensures that they will have life-time immunity. Anadditional 30% develop only flu-like symptoms, and again, this group will acquire life-time immunity.

Of the remaining20% exposed to Hepatitis B will develop the symptoms of thedisease. 95% of this 20% will fully recover, with life-timeimmunity.

Therefore, lessthan 5% of people who contract Hepatitis B will becomechronic carriers of the infection.

The numbersget even smaller: of that 5%, nearly 75% (or 3.75% of thetotal exposed) will live with an asymptomatic infection andonly 25%, (or only 1.25% of the total number of people exposed)will develop chronic liver disease or liver cancer, 10-30years after the acute infection. (Hyams, K.C. (1995) Risksof chronicity following acute hepatitis B virus infection:A review. Clin. Infect. Dis. 20, 992-1000.)

Think of thatin terms of probability: the possibility of contracting thedisease is exceedingly difficult for children and only 1.25%of those that are exposed will actually develop the most seriouscomplication!

This type ofa "protecting the needle in the haystack" medicineis absurd at best, dangerous at worst.

Doesthis make any sense?

Howmany safety studies have been done on Hepatitis B vaccine?

A manufacturer'srepresentative was asked in a 1997 Illinois Board of Healthhearing to show evidence that the hepatitis B vaccine is safefor a 1-day old infant. The representative stated:

"We havenone. Our studies were done on 5- and 10-year-olds."

-- The CongressionalQuarterly, August 25, 2000, pg. 647

One would thinkthat these would be mandatory, but they are not. All thatis required is to show efficacy, (i.e. that the vaccine stimulatesan antibody response after it is give), not safety.

In most otherindustries the fraud represented here would lead to criminalcharges.

Whatcan you do?

Please tellevery pregnant woman you know about this issue. They needto know the facts BEFORE they are in the hospital and havetime to make an informed objective decision. If they are stillconvinced their child needs hepatitis B vaccine, beg themto make sure their child does not receive the vaccine as anewborn. Delay the vaccine until they really are at a possiblerisk, like late adolescence.

I have showndozens of times in this newsletter, drugs that are thoughtto be safe are pulled from the market after they have killeddozens or hundreds of people. I am hopeful that hepatitisB vaccinations in newborns will be stopped. Medical sciencewill have to recognize the truth sooner or later.

Folks, drugdeaths pale in comparison to the devastation in lost livesresulting from implementation of this hepatitis B recommendation.

You can playa large role here. Most of all us did not have a chance tomake a difference in the 9/11 tragedy, but nearly everyoneof us can help protect the precious brain cells of a newborn.

Don't delay.

Contact everypregnant woman you know immediately. Save a life.

NoteTo Physicians:

I am a memberof the Associationof American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS). This is agroup of over 10,000 US medical doctors, and most of us havereached the conclusionthat the head of the organization, Dr. Jane Orient, has aboutthis issue.

To the extentthat the physician simply complies without making an independentevaluation of the appropriateness of the vaccine for eachpatient, he is abdicating his responsibility under the Oathof Hippocrates to:

"prescriberegimen for the good of my patients according to my abilityand my judgment and never do harm to anyone."
