The Centers for Disease Control and scientists connected with the World Health Organization have announced that they're beginning several studies on the safety of new and existing vaccines.
The CDC's study will look at the entire vaccine safety program in the U.S. The other study, which 36 scientists around the world will work on together, will examine the "nonspecific effects" of vaccines on children in low-income countries, with a "high priority" on looking at possible changes to the DTP (diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis) vaccine schedule.
