Google-owned YouTube has been fined a record $170 million for collecting children's personal information without parents' consent. YouTube also uses nudge techniques to encourage children to stay online longer, tracking personal preferences to create lists of autoplayback and autosuggestions, which keep children glued to the screen. Now, advocates are working to protect children's online rights and privacy.
