Parkinson’s Drug Causes Gambling Side Effect

A drug for Parkinson’s disease may cause users to start compulsively gambling, according to a study. A large number of patents taking the Parkinson’s drug Mirapex gambled so much that they had financial problems.

Patients taking other drugs did not experience the excessive gambling side effect. For patients taking Mirapex, the gambling behavior got better when they switched to a different drug.
