Another Reason Doctors Don't Tell Their Patients To Lose Weight

ObesityA woman has filed a complaint against Dr. Terry Bennett with the state of New Hampshire, stating that his advice that she lose weight was hurtful.

The complaint was initially investigated by a panel of the New Hampshire Board of Medicine, which suggested that Bennett be sent a confidential letter of concern.

The board rejected the suggestion and requested that the attorney general's office investigate. Bennett did not take that office's recommendation that he attend a medical education course. Dr. Bennett did write a letter of apology to the woman when he learned that she was offended.

Other overweight patients have come to Bennett's defense, including a woman who lost more than 150 pounds under his care, stating that what he said was nothing more than medical truth.

Dr. Mercola Dr. Mercola's Comments:

As long as I've written about obesity's horrible toll on your health, I've reminded you about an important contributor to this epidemic: Doctors who fail to advise their patients to lose weight.

You can certainly expect that "don't ask/don't tell" approach to continue if patients themselves take actions against doctors when they do receive sound medical advice!

The truth is, if we don't turn the tide on obesity very soon, our children may live shorter lives than their parents, which has much to do with why I started this site in the first place.

Resistance to natural health truth can be challenging to overcome. Many of you don't want to change your diet, start an exercise routine, or take other necessary steps. It sounds difficult. It sounds like an unpleasant chore.

The truth is, once you start doing it, you'll find it's much easier than you thought. You'll want to be more active, because you'll have more energy. You'll have no problems with making the right food choices, because you'll no longer be addicted to sugar and will not crave sweets. That may sound impossible to you right now, but you'll be amazed at the changes to your health and happiness.

If you find that these changes are challenging then you will certainly want to consider using energy psychology techniques. If you are drinking any soda at all, one of the quickest ways to dramatically jump-start your health is to stop drinking it.

You can use EFT to help you in this process. Once you have that health victory under your belt you can use a similar process to help you increase your healthy lifestyle choices.
