EFT is a simple method that helps you clear blocks, fears, negative thinking and defeating patterns. I use it nearly every day to help me create a more successful life.
QUESTION: What would you suggest to someone who would like to start using EFT to assist them in their own personal development?
ANSWER: The first thing to consider in using EFT to support yourself is that it's a useful tool to start implementing on a daily basis, or several days a week. I teach my clients to think of EFT in the same vein that they think of brushing their teeth. What I mean by this is that we have a habit that's become second nature.
Most people do because we've been raised to have a certain level of hygiene in our culture. It's just a habit to brush their teeth. They want good oral hygiene, good dental health, and in order to have it, tooth brushing is essential.
So, if you want to have good self esteem and continually develop yourself, using EFT on a daily basis is one of the most magnificent tools you can add to your lifestyle. Because, we're going to have negative thoughts, fears, emotional patterns and feelings that are disruptive to our progress, and that can become roadblocks to pursuing our goals and dreams with grace and ease.
Using EFT on a regular basis starts to give you a little hands-on access to being able to becoming more of a manager of your thoughts and feelings, to not let them take over and dictate how well you're doing, but that you can step in, intervene with EFT and start to influence the way you think and feel, with some pretty immediate results.
Quite often, the more you do it, the more immediate those results can be because those energy patterns, the energy that's running on those meridians that you're tapping on through the acupressure points with the process of EFT, respond more and more readily to your intervention.
So that would be my first suggestion, to start to see it as a support tool, something that's helping you achieve a better life and more of your full potential, rather than as a treatment tool to treat an issue, condition or problem in your life.
Of course, that's a very viable and very powerful way to use EFT, that in the pursuit of personal development, to use it as a resource to support growth and becoming stronger, much as if you were preparing (I'll use the example of a marathon again), for a marathon. You'd start running and training to build and become more physically prepared, gain strength and endurance, and be ready to then run the race. So, EFT can be considered a personal development training tool. Think of it in that light.
