Raw Steak Tartare with Luci Lock

If you mention "steak tartare" to most people nowadays, you get mixed reactions. Some people would be very excited about it because it‘s a very, very tasty, gourmet dish, while others would be very hesitant because they‘re worried about food-borne illnesses and such.

But if you‘re very careful about the preparation, and especially if you‘re careful about the source of your meat, then this is actually a very tasty and nutritious dish for you.

The beef I‘m using is from Blackwing.com., who are an excellent source for organic food and meats, with an amazing selection to choose from.

So, allow me to demystify steak tartare, so you can taste this delectable dish, which enjoys great popularity on menus in France, Switzerland and Belgium.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Approx ½ cup freshly-ground sirloin steak
  • Approx 1 rounded Tablespoon red onion, chopped fine
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Splash of Worcestershire sauce
  • Small splash of apple cider vinegar

PREPARATION:

  1. Add 1 rounded Tablespoon chopped onion to steak
  2. Add sprinkling of black pepper, or to taste
  3. Add splash of Worcestershire sauce
  4. Add tiny splash of apple cider vinegar
  5. Stir together well

May serve on a burger bun, and may top off with a raw egg or capers.

This dish is so nutritious, as it‘s raw and organic. There are many variations on this recipe. So, do fiddle about with your own variations until it‘s just right for your taste. I hope you enjoy this one.
