High Carbs Means Low HDL

Children with high cholesterol levels were fed low fat diets that were high in simple carbohydrates. This resulted in significant reductions in their HDL levels.

Am J Clin Nutr 1998;67:1147-54.

COMMENT: More evidence to confirm that the low fat diet is utter nonsense. I do not know how long it will take for traditional medicine to recognize that for most chronic illness in this country restriction of carbohydrate intake is one of the quickest ways to improvement. Major illnesses that respond to this approach are diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, and most cancers.
