You're welcome, I hope it works for you too. I thought my dry skin was from being hypothryoid, but it turns out it comes and goes depending on my water source - creek vs. chlorinated. I really enjoy your posts, btw. (and I loved your retort to your stepdad, "you sleep all day!")

Hi, You just have to bond with restaurant people....friends...then they try harder maybe. I am friends with the waitress and her brother is the owner. They cook special for me...but I have to wait maybe 30 minutes since they may have a rush of other cooking to do and it take time to do my food right. They use my pan and I made 20 changes until I finally got it to where I could eat it ok...I became allergic to onions etc. They call it the Wendy special after my name. Anyone who needs a gluten free meal can order it. The red peppers come out of a jar. Just tell them you will wait. I bring a book so it doesn't matter if I have to wait. I ordered no MSG tonight on my son's order. Praise them and thank them...tell them it will increase business that you are getting a special order. I hope they will adapt their food to you. Just say you can't eat it if it has peppers... Best wishes.

Highlander

Q10  400mg

alpha lipoic acid   300 mg

Vit D 6000-8000

magnesium   400 mg

vit C  2 - 8 gr

selenium  1 - 3 brazils

B 12 sub lingual   - liberal

Iodine

Grocer's perks  -  always fresh greens, and a small serving of fruit a day ( tonight ) fresh blueberries, blackberries, strawberries.

Mostly paleo diet although my cook/wife is not 100% behind me ( english/canadian cooking) .  We eat only once a day together. I add eggs, meat, hard cheese for my other meals.

I don't actually exercise. Once around the block after supper with Jane (1.5 K ) and to my Mother's for a beer four times a week. ( 3 K ) But, I am getting close to lean without losing any more weight and more muscle is obvious. The change in energy levels was early but about one year into the process the vascular/heart change was dramatic and now you just can't stop me.

Some things are known such as Vit D and magnesium. How about iodine. Your Doc will tell you that you get enough in your food. But as a grocer I can tell you that no one buys iodized salt any more, shell fish and cheese/milk is the same and when was the last time that you loaded up on kelp sandwiches.  Or Q 10. Not a chance. Plus we know that you produce less Q10 as we age and that the muscles get the most. So what happens to the rest of your body that gets less or a lot less? Skin, lungs, sex organs, digestive tract, breasts and bones. Sounds like visible ageing and disease to me. I think that we must insure that we get more than enough basic nutrients and use a small bit of exercise to spread them around in order to slow/stop/prevent ageing. So far it is working for me.

Highlander,

Starting at 58 after watching one of my older brothers ( fit, powerful man ) die from cancer, I started to read. I have always been reasonably healthy and quite fit as a young man. I have run a small grocery store for the last forty years so life is pleasant and not hard. I always thought if I ate a little less and started exercising I could regain my youth. Not so. I skip to four years later. The grey hair is now just a small part of the side burns, black spots in my eyes are gone, callouses and splits on my hands and feet are gone, scars and scar tissue gone or disappearing, near correct weight, can walk any hill in our town and not even a tiny puff, unlimited energy in all areas. The list goes on. You name it. If you think about it, everyone ignores the actual cellular functions. We not only must consume the total nutrients needed for every cell to function, we must insure that they actually gets to every cell on a timely basis. What is adult ageing? We don't really age, we rot. We ignore the edges and pay the price. The only real talk of ageing is about telemeres and maybe they can be reversed too. The one new item that wasn't on the books before is Q10. It was unavailable before and ignored. All of the other basic vits and minerals and enzymes have been studied and proven useful. So think about the very basics and let your body do the job it was designed for.

Point well taken Highlander. Trying to find where that place is. Don't think it's in simple chemistry, like Chinese to most or maybe just too simple? Urban, suburban are divorced from nature and lost in the collective "wisdom" and most of the crackers believe in university recommended chemicals. And they want university/doctor approved information and trust no other or even their own eyes or logic. It's a dependency thing.

Really big lies and "what everybody believes" are the hardest to see through for people and those grooves are cut deep. Foods and the environment are common ground but money come first. You tell me, I'm puzzled, need a mirror and am all ears. Thanks, Cap
