Sorry, I didn't type a few words there. I left out "metabolic cycle." That was rather important. Bad me!!!! Thanks for catching that.

Well, I was a lot more toxed than I thought when I wrote this. That will teach me for writing so late. I meant to write Martin Pall. (isn't Ron Paul a politician? Now you see the trials of being brain damaged. You think one thing and something else sometimes comes out.) His web sight is "the tenth paradigm." I don't agree with all of his stuff, but the No/Onoo cycle is a good piece of the puzzle.
You analysis makes perfect sense.
I'll try to write earlier in the day, I should have caught those errors.

Hi Shawna,
I don't mind the questions; you know I'm learning tons from these discussions, myself. ;^)
I'm glad you're enjoying the new research project. If I might suggest the best expert to read? Paris Kidd, Ph.D. Cell Biology. Her doctoral thesis was on glutathione. Here's the link:  http://www.dockidd.com/pdf/KiddGSHAMR.pdf
Dr. Kidd doesn't suggest glutamine. The environmental Dr.s don't either. They like to see methyl-cobalamine, methionine, N-acetylcystiene (sp?) been working horses for a couple of weeks now. Uses up energy and muddles up my thinking, sorry. Can't spell right now. Anyway, she also points out that L-cystiene or cystiene are toxic, so she doesn't like to use that. I think that's particularly important for TIs.
Since she doesn't advocate glutamine, I didn't study it and can't answer your question? Sorry.
The "second Burning Question" is a big question, and I don't mean to be smarty when I ask: How do you know if they received a big exposure or a small one?
You see it's a subjective answer based on their bodiy's perspective. First off, let me give you an analogy...
Every individual has a Health Account. It operates much like a bank account. We make healthy deposits and unhealthy withdrawals. For people, we choose to put in good nutrition, get moderate exercise and restful sleep. These are deposits. We chose to make withdrawals when we don't eat right, don't get enough sleep, drink alcohol, do drugs, smoke etc. As long as we manage our account well, keeping the deposits above the withdrawals, we're fine. Only problem is, just like in financial accounts, if someone is making unauthorized withdrawals, it messes up everything. Our account becomes overdrawn and the "fines" start stacking up. It seems like we can never get out of the hole.
For some of us, due to the circumstances surrounding our progenitors lives, we begin life with an already depleted account. Some begin with an overdrawn account. Then, throughout their lives, with all the consumer product and environmental toxic exposures, debitting their accounts, they operate as "normal" teetering on the brink of health bankruptcy.
Let me illustrate;
My mom was born to an alcoholic. She was premature, weighing very little more than 5 Lbs. They gave her to her mother in a shoebox and told her to take her home to die. They were impoverished and her nutrition was sub-optimal until well into her 30s. She had 6 children, all about a year apart, from 18 to 25. I can't speak to her other environmental exposures, but I can speak to a number of mine... I arrived with prenatal withdrawals to my account. Then, at 3 years of age, we moved into a place that was infested with cockroaches. The landlord put us up for one night and had the place fumigated. We moved back in the next day. I suffered so much damage that I have no memories of the next two years. When I was a kid, the spray trucks went down the road spraying for mosquitos, in the summer time. All the neighborhood kids ran and played in the spray and the puddles... Two of the places we lived in were adjacent to heavily sprayed crops. We played there shortly after the application. As a teenager, I  was on tetracycline, for years. I also had massive headaches and took acetaminophen. And on it goes...
Even though I never did drugs, didn't drink alcohol, ate very healthy, and got plenty of rest and exercise, it didn't matter- the unauthorized withdrawals were screwing me over. Yes, my body was sending me overdraft notices, but nobody recognized what they were! Acne, allergies, etc. Which, in the allopathic paradigm, they treat by giving you toxic drugs! And a couple more !!! for good measure.
So, to answer you question "did the small amount of toxins the dogs received send them over?"  Yes.
I'm glad to hear that Giz has lost both the fat and the lipoma. I'll have to try her diet. Maybe I can get rid of mine. ;^)
I think that should answer all the questions in that post, including the why of the last paragraph.
Blessings,
Jenn

That's great. GFE2E (fork 1, pans 2)

Any way, fascinating string you have going... You mentioned Audrey's stressed liver, induced allergies, MSG, + kd, nitrogen trapping, gluten/gliaden. NSAIDS!!!.

Let me input from my perspective:

Glutathione receptors in the body are used by glutamate. D-glutamate, the unbound kind, being toxic, damages those receptors (Dr. Blaylock's book) and the ability to make more glutathione. NSAIDS, use the same receptors and destroy the bodies ability to make more glutathione. Gluten/ gliadin, just more of the same... Less available glutathione, the more toxins that are free floating through out the body and lodged in cells, causing damage. The body is stressed by the increased amount of toxic substances floating around in it and begins secondary detox measures. i.e. histamine, which shows up as allergies. Both the liver and kidneys are stressed for the same reason. One side effect of the damage is the increased nitrogen, see NO/ONO metabolic cycle (Dr. Ron Paul) All of the above use up more glutathione in the body's attempt to repair the damage. The more toxic assault the less glutathione, the more secondary detox reactions you'll see. The subject digresses from "allergic" to chronic or acute injury. Another secondary detox pathway that we often see is fat loading in adipose tissue. Eventually, you'll see severe systemic damage or death.

I'm one of those people who believes the kidney's can regenerate. Not for scientific reasons. I haven't researched it. Too close to home. I received such a violent toxic exposure one day that I was peeing blood. My chemically lacerated kidneys were so damaged that I developed a systemic e. coli infection, in just a few short hours. The the count was so high, the lab called my Urologist, who was in surgery, and she called me from the surgery room floor. I've had exposures where I pee'd brown and my skin and eyes turned yellow, for days. I've recovered. It takes a lot of work. As long as I don't get exposures, my kidneys stay healthy. I have to believe they can recover.

I pray that Audrey can recover too. Her congenital KD and her allergies can be traced to toxic exposures to the mother, even before pregnancy. Yes, research backs this up. Can't recall Dr.s names at the moment, but lots of quotes from CDC saying that 100% of infants tested, were born with more than 200 toxins in there blood stream. 100% of test subjects had BPA levels high enough to cause genetic changes to 200 genes. Because we live in a day and age were we are exposed to more than 800,000 industrial and commercial products chemicals, the incidence of toxic injury, to pets as well as humans, is rising exponentially. Fewer than a few hundred of those chemicals have been tested for safety.

I'm a maverick too. I'm carving my own recovery program out of the piles of research I've been doing and it seems to be working.

Love the discussion! Bend my ear anytime.

Shawna, you are terrific! Rarely do I meet someone who is that, a tenacious researcher, who has the willingness to incorporate so much into her life. Wow! I'm looking forward to learning a lot from you. I've picked up all kinds of tremendous info already, just reading your posts. I'm looking forward to researching the info you mentioned. I do the same thing, take what others have said and research it on my own. :^) I'm probably a lot slower than you. I still have a lot of 'tox days.'

We all do as much as we can, with what we can and try to bump nutrition for the rest. Have you tried cleaning the flame retardant off? Can't get it all, but less is better...

As far as "Calphalon cookware" I don't trust manufacturers, either. There track record.... I won't use it. Mostly it's the scratch thing. Think about it. How can you not scratch a pan, during the course of normal use? I'd be wasting too much money. I just use butter or coconut oil on a stainless pan. I haven't had any problems with sticking/burning or with anything else, and I'm a walking VOC/toxin detector!

Thanks for the info on the poms eyes. Very helpful. Sonia, my pom will appreciate it, as I get stuff worked in. :^D  I found that extra vitamin C and freeze dried liver, go a long way in helping with the eye goo. But we still have too many days that it's black. Thanks!

I like the veggies and chlorophyl, too, though I avoid seaweed. MSG problems... I raise organic, grass fed, free range beef, lamb, chickens & ducks. So, meat & bones, I have plenty. I often wonder if the beef "allergies" that we are seeing aren't due to the hormone injections in standard industry beef, as well as chemical/perscription contaminants that were finding in the water supply to even organic operations. Are you aware that reclaim water is being used in many irrigation districts now? Farmers don't have a choice. Many organic farmers, don't even know that they're getting it.

Sorry to hear about Audrey' condition. I'm sure your doing all you can. I nearly died from kidney damage at several points. The great news is that it can be repaired. From what I read, your doing it.

I'll sign off now, too. It's wonderful to meet a kindred spirit.

From the information you've given me, it sounds like you've done an excellent job with your environment. As for the floor and pieces of furniture, it depends on how old they are and what they are made of...

Linoleum is o.k. vinyl flooring isn't. Unless it's really old. If the furniture is old, it may have finished outgassing. Borax helps. The worst offender you mentioned was the gas range. Big source of PAHs. Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons.

Is the exudate from your poms eyes black?

Your right about the foster dogs detoxing. Some chemicals can take months to years to detox completely. Some things don't come out without intervention. Egg yolk, which you mentioned in another post, is a great detoxer. And very, important, raw is better. Egg yolk is high in ALA, sulfur, glutathione, methionine, CoQ10, and many more substances that boost the immune system and help people and animals to detox.

Who is Audrey?

Which brand essential oils?

What exactly do you want to read? I research and then write informed letters to legislators and "heads of state." I don't actually write very many treatises for public viewing. I am writing a book. I think I gave you our website (?) www.toxicinjury.net and my blog: aftertoxicinjury.blogspot.com
