An excellent website that offers newcomers to a "grain
restricted/carbohydrate restricted diet" with additional view points
and approaches is www.scdiet.org.
The thrust of the site, is for people using the SCD to control gastrointestinal
disease.
The SCD closely mirrors, although it is not
identical to the regular diet
recommended at the Optimal Wellness Center.
One glaring example is their allowance of some cheeses
and dairy products. Another difference is the lack of attention to food
quality.
I believe the source (i.e. organic, free range, etc.)
of what you eat is nearly as important as the type of food you eat. With
these reservations aside, this is a good site for additional health resources.
However, many people with inflammatory bowel disease
have been helped with this program.
