When I was growing up in England, one of my favorite dishes my mom would make for me was a soft-boiled egg & “soldiers.” Any of you folks from England will know just what I’m talking about!
If you haven’t had a soft-boiled egg & soldiers before, the “soldiers” are basically just pieces of toast with butter on them, sliced into little dunking-sized pieces that you dunk into the yolk of the soft-boiled egg. It’s delicious; really yummy.
But, what to do if you’re on a grain-free diet? So, here’s a great, new take on an old, great, comfort food.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 soft-boiled egg
- Carrot sticks
PREPARATION:
- Prepare soft-boiled egg by placing egg in boiling water and boiling for 5 minutes.
- Place soft-boiled egg in little egg cup, on plate with carrot sticks.
- Enjoy dipping and dunking your brave little carrot “soldiers” into the creamy, soft-boiled egg.
And remember: Everyone is English when they’re eating soft-boiled eggs & soldiers!
Happy dunking!
